Washing bedding? Make sure your drum’s not too small
Double and king size duvets need a washing machine with a drum volume of at least 100 litres to wash effectively, and the tumble dryer should have double that volume to dry properly. Laundry services that try to get away with domestic machines with drum sizes around 60 litres are just not going to cope with these items. Even if they fit in, they won’t be washed satisfactorily and the machine will break down.
The recently launched Samsung Professional washer and dryer have drum volumes of 110litres and 240 litres respectively and are designed to bridge the gap between domestic and large professional machines. Costing up to 60% less than leading competitors’ machines, these large-drummed machines can wash and dry a king size duvet perfectly, so it is thoroughly clean and dry. And, if space is at a premium, they can be stacked on top of each other.
For the ultimate, energy-saving washing power the washer uses a new ecobubble technology. The ecobubble system generates bubbles before the wash cycle begins, by dissolving detergent in air and water. The detergent then penetrates fabric more quickly, evenly and deeply, which means operators can wash with colder water and still achieve perfectly clean results.
In tests, the machines achieved at 15°C what conventional washers achieve at 40°C. This reduces energy consumption by up to 70%, which significantly reduces costs. Both the washer and dryer are supplied with a full two year commercial parts and labour warranty as standard.
