Steaming with Samsung

Samsung Professional Appliances’ commercial microwaves steam vegetables to retain nutrients and crunch

Samsung’s range of commercial microwaves can be used to steam cook vegetables, quickly and easily without compromising on taste or quality. What’s more if done the right way, steam cooking vegetables can help lock in nutrients, as well as that all important crunch.

Steaming is the healthiest and lowest-calorie way to cook vegetables, whilst also better maintaining colour, texture and flavour. Steaming in a microwave cooks the vegetables more quickly, which means they retain more nutrients than conventional boiling methods, and some other steaming methods.

The key is to not add too much water. Most vegetables hardly need any water, some leafy vegetables only need the water that remains on the leaves after washing, but denser vegetables such as carrots will require more water.

Also, keep an eye on the clock to prevent overcooking. Samsung’s latest CM1919 is fully controllable, allowing kitchen staff to easily adjust cooking time. All the operator needs do is use the two dials to set the power level (one to five) and the timer. If, during cooking, they think that it needs a little extra time, they can push the 20 second ‘zap pad’ without needing to adjust any other controls.

Samsung’s latest CM1929 is a tough, efficient microwave especially designed to cope with demand in busy kitchens. The CM1929 has programmable touch controls allowing popular menu items to be pre-programmed to speed up kitchen procedures, reducing mistakes and wastage. The large pull-open door handle and glass front makes for easy monitoring, preventing overcooking.

With a capacity of 26 litres, the CM1929 has 35% more useable cooking space than comparable microwaves on the market, so it can accommodate large plates and serving dishes. It has an overall power output of 1850W, a redesigned soft touch control pad, seven power levels and a digital display showing status and mode of operation.

It’s not just vegetables that can be steamed to perfection in the microwave. Perfect fluffy rice can be produced in minutes too.

Samsung is one of the world's largest microwave oven brands. Samsung Professional Appliances distributes throughout the UK and Europe and offers a comprehensive choice of commercial microwave ovens, from large-capacity, 'super-heavy duty' 1850W units down to light-commercial, budget-priced 1100W models.
