SANAKO has announced the launch of the latest version of its interactive teaching platform, SANAKO Study software. The launch of version 5.00 brings many benefits to users of all Study software solutions, including more opportunities to improve students’ language learning skills at both the introductory and advanced levels, greater levels of student engagement via live feedback, and easier management of teaching routines while monitoring student activity. Teachers know that oral proficiency is the key to effective language learning. New activities in our introductory and advanced language learning software give students more opportunities to practice speaking the target language. Teachers can also save students’ oral output, providing an additional option for ongoing evaluation and assessment. Furthermore, students using all of our Study solutions will be encouraged to take a more active role in the learning process, with new avenues to give direct feedback and influence the progress of the lesson. Additional improvements in the Study platform also make it easier for teachers to monitor student activity in the class while simultaneously working with other resources in the Study teaching interface. The overall effect of the improvements and innovations in Study v 5.00 has been to strengthen our language learning solutions, while all solutions, including Study 500 and Study Science Lab benefit from better engagement of students in the learning process. LATEST IMPROVEMENTS IN THE SANAKO STUDY FAMILY The Inclusion of a Voting feature in all Study products ensures more opportunities for student interaction and collaboration and encourages greater student participation and engagement. Teachers can work with separate windows, making it easier to more effectively monitor student activity in the Study environment. Using a dual display system makes it easy to monitor, guide and support students while working with other applications on a separate display. The enhancement also allows teachers to adjust the size of student thumbnails for more focused monitoring of class activity. Additional Language Practice for Students A discussion activity in the new version of SANAKO Study 700 adds depth to the solution’s language learning activities. Teachers will be pleased to see students using this entry-level system benefit from new opportunities to develop their speaking abilities by engaging in pair and group discussion. Round table discussion is a new activity in SANAKO Study 1200 that allows teachers to set up small student groups with a designated chairman, who leads the discussion. The activity sets up a meeting environment to help advanced language learners strengthen their oral presentation skills. A parallel chat feature lets round table participants to make notes, allowing them practice their language skills in a written form alongside oral activity. The round table discussion activity may also be used to help teachers track students’ oral proficiency development, providing another method of support for continuous assessment programs. More Support for Learners Subtitling in Study 1200 represents a significant usability improvement for students using the Study 1200 media player. With the ability to subtitle files, students will gain additional valuable language practice working with media files. Students can now benefit from additional support, as teachers are able to include text instructions in media files distributed to students for independent or classroom practice. No longer will students get away with the age-old excuse, “I didn’t understand the assignment”! A Unique Teaching Platform Version 5.00 of the Study platform is compatible with the new Microsoft operating system, Windows 7, delivering on the software promise of usability with the most modern operating systems. Only SANAKO Study provides a standard teaching platform that can be deployed across the institution – no new interfaces for teachers and students to get used to! Student timetables and teaching schedules are easier and more flexible to manage with SANAKO site licenses and the dynamic licensing system. It means that teachers – and students – are not tied to any particular IT classroom, and unforeseen schedule changes are easily accommodated, as any room can be used for teaching. Customers with valid SANAKO Software Maintenance Contracts will receive the updated software free of charge.
