Mikael Matts appointed new President and CEO of Sandbäckens

The Board of Directors of Sandbäckens, one of Sweden's leading providers of technical installation and service of Sprinkler, Heating & Sanitation solutions for buildings, has appointed Mikael Matts as the new CEO and president of Sandbäckens. Mikael Matts has significant experience from leading positions in construction and project development, both in Sweden and abroad. At the same time, Johan Henriksson joins as Group CFO and Johan Karlström takes over as Chairman of the Board after Håkan Bergqvist.

Mikael Matts will assume his role as CEO on 1 June 2021 and will replace Mats Åström. Mikael comes most recently from Skanska where he has held several leading positions, including as Vice President of Skanska Sweden and as responsible for Skanska's residential development in Europe.

As of June 1, 2021, Johan Henriksson will also join as Group CFO. Johan Henriksson has solid experience from roles as CFO of Skanska USA Civil, Skanska Sweden and Skanska Infrastructure Development. 

Simultaneously, Johan Karlström replaces Håkan Bergqvist as Sandbäcken’s Chairman of the Board. Håkan will continue as a board member. Sandbäcken's owners and board of directors take the opportunity to thank Håkan for his fine work leading the company on its impressive growth journey and are pleased with his continued commitment to the Board.
