Sandvik strengthens executive management As part of the increased focusing on the core operations and to create conditions for additional synergies within Sandvik, the current Group Executive Management is being supplemented as of 1 May 2000 with the presidents of the three business areas Sandvik Tooling, Sandvik Mining and Construction and Sandvik Specialty Steels. On the same date, the following appointments become effective: Peter Larson, Executive Vice President at Kanthal AB since 1992, is appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in Sandvik AB. Peter Larson served as Controller at Sandvik AB from 1981-1984 and held similar positions with ABB and Uddeholm. Born in 1949, he holds a MBA degree. Lars Pettersson, President of Sandvik Tooling and Sandvik Coromant, has been appointed Executive Vice President in Sandvik AB. He will retain his position as head of Sandvik Tooling. Lars Pettersson, born in 1954, holds an MSc. Eng degree. Anders Thelin, Vice President and Manager of Production and Logistics at Sandvik Coromant, has been appointed President of the company. Born in 1950, he holds an MSc Eng degree. Ola Rollén, President of Sandvik Steel, has also been appointed President of the Sandvik Specialty Steels business area. Born in 1965, he holds a MBA degree. Leif Sunnermalm, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in Sandvik AB, has requested to exercise his right to early retirement as of 1 May 2000.
