Sandvik Coromant to showcase composites machining knowledge and solutions
New CoroMill Plura brazed end mills in the spotlight
JEC Europe, 11-13 March 2014;
Smart Hub Pavilion 7.3 Q42
The extensive capabilities of the CoroMill Plura range of milling cutters for composites machining will take centre stage on the Smart Hub Pavilion of cutting tool specialist Sandvik Coromant at JEC Europe 2014. The main attraction will be the exhibition debut of a new range of CoroMill Plura brazed PCD end mills designed for edging CFRP components. These cutters extend the Sandvik Coromant offer for CFRP, which today covers both drilling and milling operations.
The new end mills and many other solutions will be presented on the Smart Hub, where visitors will have the opportunity to discuss existing or forthcoming component machining challenges with the company’s instantly recognizable Yellow Coat team. For anyone preferring a structured overview of the company's product offer, a technical sales presentation will be given by a Sandvik Coromant expert in composite machining, on 11 March 2013 at 11:00 CET.
World’s largest
Spanning an exhibition space the size of 8½ football pitches, JEC Europe is described as the world’s largest composites event. Sandvik Coromant, via its established partnership with Precorp, the company’s Composite Application Center in Orléans (France), its Research and Development Center for Composite Machining in Sheffield (UK), its membership of the University of Sheffield’s AMRC, and a proven track record of innovative solutions for composites machining, is today a major player in this rapidly progressing technology area.
Composites are becoming increasingly common in the production of aerospace, automotive and energy sector components. These materials present real challenges to manufacturers that include quality requirements, component consistency, tool life, security, zero scrap and production efficiency.
Essential technologies
Optimized machining solutions and support are vital for the successful production of composite parts. Visitors to the Sandvik Coromant Smart Hub Pavilion 7.3 Q42 can meet with composite application specialists, discuss the latest tool developments, customized designs, and enquire about the competence and application support that the company provides in all corners of the world.
