Fair Lawn, N.J. – Sandvik Coromant, the world’s leading producer of tools for the metal cutting industry, recently partnered with the New Jersey Technology and Engineering Educators Association (NJTEEA) to host local technology educators at the company’s headquarters in Fair Lawn, N.J. on Wednesday, March 21 for their monthly meeting.

“By building a relationship with local education communities, Sandvik Coromant hopes to bring awareness to students of the opportunities available within the metalworking industry,” said Kevin Mayer, productivity center manager in Fair Lawn. “This is our chance to shape the future of our manufacturing workforce by offering our resources to local students.”

Brought to you by Sandvik Coromant’s education department, the New Jersey educators that attended were given tours of the facility’s Productivity Center and Aerospace Application Center as well as the opportunity to view live machining demonstrations.

"The visit to Sandvik Coromant supports NJTEEA's efforts and our vision for our new ‘Ingenuity Challenge’ student program, which shows real life applications of science, technology, engineering and mathematics school work," said Dave Janosz, managing director, partnership initiatives with New Jersey Technology and Engineering Educators Association and a supervisor in the Northern Valley High School district.

The NJTEEA is the statewide professional association for technology educators working on fostering the development of technological literacy through Technology Education programs in the state of New Jersey.
