Report this content

Jan Lissåker has been appointed Executive Vice President Group Communications and member of Group Executive Management at Sandvik AB. The appointment becomes effective from 5 March 2012. He replaces Anders Wallin in the role as head of Group Communications when Anders retires after a long and successful career within the Sandvik Group. However, Anders Wallin will remain at the company for a period to, among other activities, lead a number of projects related to Sandvik’s 150th anniversary in 2012. The position is based in Stockholm, although part of the time will be spent in Sandviken. Jan Lissåker is currently Vice President Investor Relations at Sandvik AB, a position he will retain until a successor has been appointed. He has a solid background from several senior financial positions primarily at Sandvik Coromant and Sandvik Tooling, and has been in charge of the Group’s financial communication in recent years.

“I am pleased that we have secured the succession within Group Communications now that Anders Wallin is retiring. Competence and genuine business knowledge are key attributes and our evaluation shows that Jan Lissåker is a good match for our demands. Since Group Communications is such an important function, we have decided that the Vice President will hereafter serve as a member of Group Executive Management,” says Olof Faxander, Sandvik’s President and CEO.
