Sandvik opens new distribution center in Singapore Sandvik Coromant has placed a new distribution center in operation in Singapore. The facility is located strategically at the Changi Airport and serves the entire Asia Pacific region. Using Sandvik's advanced computer and logistics systems, customers in Asia, as in other parts of the world, can now receive the cemented-carbide tools they order within 24 hours. Through the facility in Singapore, customers have access to Sandvik Coromant's complete range of standard products. This meets the ever-increasing customer demand for quicker deliveries and lower levels of own inventories. The new central warehouse is part of Sandvik's global expansion and will play an important role for development of Internet trading in Asia. Sandvik's President and CEO Clas Åke Hedström participated in the official opening. "Asia is one of the prioritized markets in Sandvik's new growth strategy. In recent years, we have achieved major sales successes in this market and the investment in logistics and effective customer service in Singapore means that we are further strengthening our competitiveness," says Clas Åke Hedström.
