    Sandvik wins major order for Khoemacau Copper Mine in Botswana

    Sandvik has received a major underground mining equipment fleet order from the China-based mining contractor JCHX Mining Management Co., Ltd., to be used at the Khoemacau Copper Mine in Botswana. The order is valued at approximately SEK 650 million and was booked in the second quarter of 2026. The order includes loaders, trucks and drills, and access to digital monitoring solutions, including Remote Monitoring Service. AutoMine[® ]is included for the loaders and part of the drills. Deliveries are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026 with most of the deliveries expected in 2026-

    Sandvik appoints new President of business area Mining

    Sandvik has appointed Patrick Murphy as President of business area Mining and new member of the Sandvik Group Executive Management, effective July 1, 2026. He succeeds Mats Eriksson, who as previously announced is stepping down from the role ahead of his planned retirement in 2027. Patrick Murphy is currently President of the Rotary Drilling division within Mining. Patrick Murphy, born in 1976, is a Canadian national. He joined Sandvik in 2001 and has a strong background from various roles within the Mining business area, working in Canada, Australia, India, Finland and the United States.

    Sandvik has received a major order for underground mining equipment from the Canadian mining company Aris Mining, to be used at the Marmato gold mine in Colombia. The order is valued at around SEK 250 million and was booked in the first quarter of 2026.     Mats Eriksson, President of the Mining business area at Sandvik, has decided to retire in 2027, when he turns 65 years. In 2026 he will step down from his position and as member of the Group Executive Management once a successor has assumed the role, tentatively July 1.     Sandvik has received a major underground equipment order from the global mining contractor The Redpath Group for deployment at Evolution Mining’s Cowal Gold Operations in New South Wales, Australia.     Sandvik has received a large order for battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) from the Canada-based mining company Eldorado Gold, to be used at its Lamaque mine in Val-d’Or, Québec. The order is valued at around SEK 160 million and was booked in the fourth quarter of 2025.  The order includes battery-electric trucks and loaders and follows a SEK 65 million BEV order from Eldorado Gold booked in the third quarter.     Sandvik has received a major order from the Canadian mining company Torex Gold Resources to supply a 35-unit mining equipment fleet for its Media Luna project in Mexico.
