    Sandvik divests conveyor components as the final step in exiting Mining Systems

    Sandvik has signed an agreement to divest the conveyor components’ parts of the Mining Systems business, including the closely related specialist conveyor systems business in Hollola (Finland), to NEPEAN Conveyors Pty Ltd, a privately owned Australian based company. As announced on 12 July 2017, Sandvik signed an agreement to divest the project business in Mining Systems to FLSmidth.     Sandvik has signed an agreement to sell parts of Mining Systems to FLSmidth. Mining Systems is a supplier of design and engineering of material handling systems. In 2016 the operations had annual sales of 2.9 billion SEK.     Sandvik intends to divest Mining Systems operations

    Sandvik has decided to initiate divestment of the project business Mining Systems. Mining Systems is a separate product area within Sandvik Mining and a supplier of design and engineering of material handling systems for the mining industry. In 2014 the Mining Systems operations, with 1,300 employees, had annual sales of 6.3 billion SEK representing 7% of Sandvik Group invoicing, and an operating loss was reported at a low single digit level.     Sandvik implements second phase of supply chain optimization program, as well as further adjustments to cost base

    As initially communicated in 2013, Sandvik’s supply chain is to be optimized, reducing the number of production units from 150 to about 125 over three to four years. The first phase has progressed according to plan and was initiated in the fourth quarter of 2013, involving 11 unit closures (of which five closures had been implemented at year-end 2014).     Sandvik announced on 7 January 2014 an agreement to acquire Varel International Energy Services Inc. The company has about 1,300 employees and revenue in 2013 was approximately 340 million USD.The acquisition was completed on 21 May 2014 and will be consolidated into Sandvik Venture as of the same date.     Sandvik holds Capital Markets Day in the US

    This fall, Sandvik will arrange its annual Capital Markets Day in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, USA. The date is set to 17 November 2014.     Sandvik makes successful bond issue

    Sandvik AB has made a successful bond issue in the Swedish capital market of 4 billion SEK. The bonds are issued under the Swedish Medium Term Note Program and evenly split in two tenors maturing January 14, 2020 and January 14, 2021. The issues are at both fixed and floating rates. “The market showed big interest in participating in the issue and we are very pleased with this transaction securing long-term funding at attractive terms”, says Anders Örbom, Group Treasurer at Sandvik.     Sandvik Venture has acquired the German company TechnoPartner Samtronic GmbH, (TPS), a manufacturer of scattering machines and double belt presses. The company’s core capabilities are reinforced Teflon belt-based double belt press machines. TPS offer consists of new equipment, feed/scattering units and service and spare parts.
