SAS Cargo appoints new head of Global Handling division

SAS Cargo appoints new head of its global cargo handling division Klaus Glendorf, 53, has been appointed Vice President Global Handling and will start in his new position in June. Klaus Glendorf has previously been in charge of Copenhagen Air Services and Novia Holding A/S. - Klaus has a thorough knowledge about the industry and more than 20 years of solid experience with management of cargo handling businesses, where he has produced good results. Furthermore, he has been working for SAS Cargo as an external consultant since 2003 and convinced us about his skills by solving a series of complex tasks, says Kenneth Marx, who is President and CEO of SAS Cargo Group A/S. Klaus Glendorf will be responsible of SAS Cargo's cargo handling division globally, Global Handling, where especially SAS Cargo's own terminals in Scandinavia and USA will have a big focus. Global Handling is the division within SAS Cargo with the most employees. - I look forward to my future challenges with SAS Cargo. I have with me a broad background in terms of education and experience within cargo handling and management in big organizations. Through the past year I have come to learn a lot about SAS Cargo and I am convinced that I can contribute to the development of Global Handling, says Klaus Glendorf. Klaus Glendorf, who is an educated teacher and has a university degree (M.Sc) from Stanford University in USA, will be replacing Anders Skantz, who has left the position in order concentrate on SAS Cargo's cargo handling terminals in Sweden, which will be established as a independent company this summer. Anders Skantz will be managing director of this company and SAS Cargo will hold the majority of the shares. SAS Cargo has own cargo terminals in Copenhagen, Billund, Malmo, Gothenburg, Stockholm, Oslo, Kristiansand, Stavanger, Bergen, Trondheim, Bodø, Tromsø and Newark. SAS Cargo Group A/S had a turnover of 2,954 MSEK (324 MEUR) in 2003 and 1250 employees in Scandinavia and 130 outside Scandinavia.
