SAS Cargo expands capacity between Scandinavia and the US
From September 22nd SAS Cargo will start offering additional all-cargo freighter capacity between Scandinavia (Copenhagen) and the US (Chicago) twice a week. The additional capacity will especially benefit customers with odd size shipments, which does not fit into the cargo compartments of passenger aircrafts.
The capacity is provided through a block-space agreement with the WOW alliance partner, Singapore Airlines Cargo, who operates the Boeing 747-400F cargo aircraft. - We know that among our Scandinavian customers there is a demand for all-cargo capacity to and from the US market, so we have for some time been searching for the right partner and the right capacity. We were very happy that we could make this agreement with an alliance partner, and make use of the impressive route network within WOW, says Kenneth Marx, CEO of SAS Cargo Group A/S. The new block-space agreement will increase SAS Cargo's capacity between Scandinavia and the US with 130 tons per week. The departure days from Copenhagen are Thursday and Sunday, which fits very well in to the production schedule of most of the Scandinavian industry. Departure days from Chicago are Friday and Sunday.
