Increased training for flybe at SAS Flight Academy

Increased training for flybe at SAS Flight Academy Last week SAS Flight Academy signed a contract with flybe for Dash8-Q400 and Dash8-300 pilot training. flybe has been a customer at SAS Flight Academy for three years, and the new contract is a five-year exclusiveness contract and means increased training since flybe has 14 Q400s on order and additional 20 on options. The new Q400s will replace the Dash8-200/300 fleet, but are also additional capacity to its fleet. flybe has operated successfully for 25 years and is the largest privately owned regional airline in Europe and the third largest low cost carrier in the UK. Furthermore flybe provides third party maintenance services as a Bombardier Service Centre at its Exeter base. SAS Flight Academy provides training for pilots, cabin crews, maintenance technicians and ships' officers. It offers training for twelve different aircraft types, ranging from regional to long haul aircraft and helicopter. SAS Flight Academy has two training centres, one in Stockholm, Sweden, and one in Copenhagen, Denmark, and will open a third training centre at Gardermoen, Oslo Airport, Norway, in August 2004.
