Gorm Frimannslund appointed President of SAS Ground Services Norway

Gorm Frimannslund has been appointed President of SAS Ground Services Norway AS. He is currently Chief Operating Officer of Widerøe’s Flyveselskap AS.

Frimannslund, 44, joined Widerøe’s route planning department in 1987. Before his appointment as COO and Accountable Manager in 2004, he had been responsible for the airline’s ground handling organization for ten years. Prior to that, he had worked for three years as Business Controller.

Gorm Frimannslund has led a working group concerning infrastructure and environmental issues for the Association of European Airlines. He has a Bachelor’s Degree from BI Norwegian School of Management.

“With broad knowledge of both ground handling and the airline industry, I am certain that Gorm Frimannslund can make a positive contribution to the further development of our Norwegian company, both in Norway and globally,” says Hans-Otto Halvorsen, President of SAS Ground Services. “With his experience of large and operation-intensive organizations, as well as of purchasing and selling ground handling services, he has a solid background for this position.”

The new President of SGS Norway lives in Oslo with his wife Guri and two children. When not spending time with his family, he enjoys running and hiking.

Although the date of appointment has not been decided, Frimannslund will take office during the first quarter of 2007.
