Lufthansa German Airlines has chosen SAS Ground Services Finland Oy as its full provider of ground handling at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. This means providing ramp services in addition to current passenger services. The three-year agreement is effective from August 16.

Lufthansa operates eight daily flights out of Helsinki to Frankfurt and Munich with A320 and B737 family aircrafts. The choice of SAS Ground Services was made after a comprehensive evaluation of several offers. "SAS Ground Services won the bid based on the quality of their product and their proven track record in providing passenger services to Lufthansa customers in Helsinki. We are pleased to add a full-handling profile here, as with our existing stations in Scandinavia," says Steve Woodward, Lufthansa's General Manager Operations and Airport Services for Finland, Scandinavia and the Baltic States. "We are very happy to have concluded this agreement with Lufthansa and thereby being able to count yet another quality carrier among our customers. This highly respected Star Alliance carrier will strengthen SAS Ground Services' role as a major ground handling company in Finland," says Juha Järvinen, Managing Director at SAS Ground Services Finland Oy.
