Asiana Airlines has signed an agreement with SAS Ground Services for ground handling at London Heathrow Airport. This means that SAS Ground Services, today present in Terminal 3, will also be present in Terminal 1, the future Star Alliance terminal. The agreement is effective from May 4.

Asiana Airlines, a Star Alliance member, operates four weekly B747 flights between the Korean capitol Seoul and London. SAS Ground Services won the contract in competition with major handlers at London Heathrow Airport. Ramp services will be subcontracted to Aviance. "We are very pleased to be able to count yet another quality carrier among our customers," says Christer Svensson, Managing Director for SAS Ground Services UK Ltd. "This is also an important step in the planned expansion for SGS in the UK. Our ambition is to provide handling in all three central terminals at Heathrow before the end of the year."
