Attracting, retaining creative talent remains cornerstone of company, customer success

Business analytics leader SAS marks its 12th appearance in the top 10 of Fortune magazine's list of 100 Best Companies to Work For in the US. This year, SAS ranks No. 4 for its workplace culture – which encourages work/life balance and offers stimulating work for its employees.

SAS has had an uninterrupted presence since the list was created. SAS CEO Jim Goodnight firmly believes that the ability to attract and retain creative employees directly affects company success. “Everyone plays a role in making SAS a great place to work – and work with. That’s why it is so important that we attract, retain and develop the best talent to remain successful,” said Goodnight.

Such talent is instrumental in contributing to the company’s overall success, as indicated by SAS’ uninterrupted revenue growth and profitability, as well as consistently low employee turnover. SAS' turnover rate remains below 5 percent versus an industry norm of more than 16 percent. By reducing turnover, SAS retains knowledge and builds deeper, longer-term customer relationships.

“Remaining on this list of best workplaces is especially meaningful because it is so heavily based on employee feedback,” said Jenn Mann, SAS Vice President of Human Resources. “Our leadership cares about our people and the work they do. We are all passionate about this place, and having such amazing people at SAS creates an employee experience that you can’t find anywhere else.”

Last year, SAS ranked No. 2 on the elite Top 25 World's Best Multinational Workplaces list from Great Place to Work® as well as No. 2 among Fortune’s 2014 Best Companies to Work For in the US. SAS was No. 1 on the US list in 2010 and 2011.
