- Net sales amounted to £27.1 million
- EBITDA before special items amounted to £7,036k up 180% on the same quarter last year
- Operating profit amounted to £5,570k
- Profit before tax amounted to £5,226k
- Cash and cash equivalents at the end of the period were £28,248k
Q1 revenues were 6.4% ahead of the same quarter last year due to a ramp up of customer installations and the timing of the Christmas holidays. EBITDA increased by £4,525k to £7,036k over the same quarter as the previous year despite the disruption caused by the COVID 19 pandemic. This increase is due to both the timing of expenditure of the January advertising campaign and reductions in media spend.
Impacts from closed stores, due to the pandemic, has been minimal as UK customers have switched to the Direct channel.
The Company’s cash and liquidity position remain very strong with closing cash at £28,248k up £2,990k on the year end position.
Considering the difficult UK trading environment, Management is extremely pleased with this strong set of results.
