SBAB was founded in 1985 and is owned by the Swedish state. SBAB has about 335,000 customers and 500 employees. SBAB had Sweden’s most satisfied residential mortgage customers in 2014, 2015 and 2016, according to Svenskt Kvalitetsindex (SKI, Swedish Quality Index). On the 4th October 2017, SBAB issued a new Green Bond. The bond is in unsecured format, amounts to SEK 1,750,000,000 and has a maturity of 5 years.
