The acquisition is the second one during 2020 whilst opening in several new countries in Europe, Scan Global Logistics is expanding their footprint even though the pandemic has been disrupting the transport and logistics market.

Scan Global Logistics announces the new acquisition of PostNord’s Swedish Air & Ocean activities as of October 1, 2020, including the employees who will bring valuable competencies and insights on the Swedish market and enable a more extensive network and presence in Sweden. PostNord Air & Ocean have an annual turnover at DKK 140 million, and is a well-known brand within the Nordics.

The ambition with the acquisition is to offer an even better customer experience in the Nordics, getting more market shares and growing the Swedish side of the business.

“We are very excited to welcome our new Swedish colleagues and customers. The acquisition is perfectly aligned with our corporate growth ambitions,” says Hans Möller, Managing Director in Scan Global Logistics AB. “With this acquisition, we can grow our network and presence in Sweden even more for the benefit of our customers. For us, every challenge is an opportunity to unlock potential, and we will use all our abilities, exploring and understanding our clients’ needs to find the right solutions at the right time.”

It is beneficial for both companies

For PostNord, it was a clear choice with Scan Global Logistics: “As part of an overall strategy, we want to focus on our core business which is mail and parcels. With Scan Global Logistics ambitions, culture and products, it was a good match for both companies” says Eva Fahlander, General Manager at PostNord Air & Ocean.

Claes Brønsgaard Pedersen, Group CFO in Scan Global Logistics, agrees: “Enhancing our network and making us stronger at some of our core products by moving anything to anywhere will benefit both current and upcoming customers.

PostNord’s Swedish Air & Ocean activities includes offices in Härryda, Gothenburg and Rosersberg, Stockholm, but the employees will be relocated into Scan Global Logistics locations. Globally, Scan Global Logistics has a turnover at USD 1,2 billion employing around 1,850 people.
