Gyproc divestment finalized On Tuesday, the deal was finalized meaning that Scancem sells it 75-percent shareholding in the plasterboard company Gyproc to the minority owner, British BPB plc, after having received the approval of the relevant authorities. As a result of the divestment, Scancem records a capital gain in excess of SEK 900 M. The Group's equity ratio is expected to increase slightly more than 6 percent and net indebtedness is anticipated to be reduced by approximately SEK 1.2 billion. Gyproc has plasterboard plants in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. Sales in 1997 totaled SEK 870 M and Gyproc has 480 employees. Gyproc also has sales offices in the Baltic states and in Russia.
