Ready-mix acquisition in the Estonian capital increases market share Lohja Rudus' Estonian ready-mix and aggregates company Rudus Eesti has acquired the ready-mix company Lagedi Betoon in Tallinn. The two companies will have a combined annual production of 60,000 cubic meters of ready-mixed concrete, corresponding to slightly more than a third of the market in Tallinn. After the acquisition of Lagedi Betoon, Rudus Eesti's sales will reach SEK 65 M in 1998, including aggregate shipments. Rudus Eesti has reached an agreement with the Estonian railways to deliver 245,000 tons of railway aggregates from Finland, mainly during 1998. - Construction activity in Tallinn is buoyant and several substantial projects are being planned, says Jorma Hämäläinen, responsible for Lohja Rudus' ready- mix and aggregate activities in the Baltics and Russia. After the acquisition Lohja Rudus can ship from two ready-mix plants and take on bigger and more demanding projects.
