Scancem International establishes new cement facility in West Africa

Scancem International establishes new cement facility in West Africa Scancem Internationala and West Africa Cement (Wacem), a company which produces cement clinker in Togo, West Africa, have established a jointly (50/50) owned company, Fortia Cement S.A. The company will produce cement from purchased clinker and will have an annual capacity of 300,000 tons. A cement grinding facility is scheduled for completion in March, 2000. Fortia's primary market will be West Africa.
