Scandiaconsult acquires Vesihydro Oy in Finland Scandiaconsult's Finnish subsidiary, SCC Viatek, is expanding and strengthening its business by acquiring the Finnish consulting firm Vesihydro. Vesihydro has an annual turnover of about SEK 45 million and a multi-disciplinary competence centre focused on water and environmental planning and engineering, traffic planning and highway engineering and geotechnical engineering. Vesihydro, which was established in 1958, has offices in Helsinki and Seinäjoki and more than 90 employees. Scandiaconsult's Finnish operations will employ a total of about 600 people as from 1 September 2002 when the acquisition will come into practice. "The acquisition will strengthen our Finnish operations by reinforcing existing technical segments and adding new closely-related segments. Our ambition is to continue developing by strengthening our multi-disciplinary profile in line with our clients' requirements," says Jaakko Heikkilä, Managing Director of SCC Viatek Oy.
