Scandic Hotel Infra City - a new conference and trade fair centre in Stockholm In co-operation with property owner InfraCity AB, Scandic Hotels has commenced work to develop Scandic Hotel Infra City, situated in Upplands Väsby on the outskirts of Stockholm, as a new conference and trade fair centre. The new centre, which will be built onto the existing hotel, will house permanent facilities for 2 trade fairs and exhibitions, covering a total area of 5,000 m . An additional 84 hotel rooms will be built, rising room capacity to 320 in total. The restaurant business will also undergo expansion in order to cater for larger functions in the trade fair and conference premises. Moreover, to complement the hotel's 20 or so conference rooms and other premises, a new auditorium with a capacity of 450 people will be built, along with four new conference room suitable for major conferences. "By combining facilities for trade fairs, conferences and party functions with a hotel and a restaurant - all under the same roof and conveniently situated between central Stockholm and Arlanda Airport - Scandic Hotel Infra City has every chance of becoming one of the most comprehensive conference and trade fair centres in Stockholm, and indeed Sweden," says Lars Sjölander, Business Area Manager for Scandic Hotels' operation in Sweden. 2 The property is to be renovated and extended with a total of 44,000 m , which also includes new offices and commercial premises.
