Scandic to take over Hotel Swania in Trollhättan Scandic Hotels continues to grow and, as of 1 September, the Group will take over management of the Hotel Swania in Trollhättan. The hotel, which has 195 rooms, is situated in central Trollhättan in a beautiful location overlooking the river known as Göta Älv. "We have been in need of another hotel in the "4 city region" north of Gothenburg for some time," says Lars Sjölander, Business Area Manager for Scandic's Swedish operations. "The Hotel Swania is very well situated and is the leading hotel in Trollhättan, a city enjoying a strong economy and growth. With its 195 rooms and impressive conference, recreational and restaurant facilities, the Hotel Swania is well suited to the Scandic chain." The takeover of the Hotel Swania is part of Scandic's programme to streamline Swedish hotel operations by focusing on central locations in larger cities and regional hubs. The hotel will change its name to Scandic Hotel Swania and be incorporated into Scandic's management and marketing systems.
