Star Hotel Sollentuna and Umeå Plaza become Scandic Hotels
Star Hotel in Sollentuna and Umeå Plaza become Scandic Hotels Effective July 1, 2000, Provobis' Star Hotel in Sollentuna, outside Stockholm, and the Umeå Plaza hotel in northern Sweden will change their names to Scandic Hotel Star Sollentuna and Scandic Hotel Plaza Umeå, respectively. This means that both hotels will become fully integrated with the Scandic operating, sales and marketing system. These are the first Provobis hotels to change their name to Scandic following Scandic's acquisition of the Provobis chain, which was finalized on June 15. The remaining Provobis hotels will change their names and become part of the Scandic system later this autumn.
