New Managing Director of Scandinavia Online A/S in Denmark
NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR OF SCANDINAVIA ONLINE A/S IN DENMARK Effective August 1, 2000 Lars Folkmann (36) will join Scandinavia Online (OMSE:SCOL; OSE:SCO) as new Managing Director for Scandinavia Online A/S, the wholly owned Danish subsidiary of Scandinavia Online AB. Lars Folkmann brings extensive general management, commercial and strategic marketing experience from The Coca-Cola Company and Coca-Cola Tapperierne A/S where he has held a number of senior positions. SOL's current Country Manager in Denmark, Peer Olav Østli, will assume responsibility for all of the Group's product development as Executive Vice President in the SOL Group. Lars Folkmann's primary task as Managing Director will be to strengthen and expand SOL's user base, and continue the aggressive expansion that has taken SOL from the tenth to the second place in terns of usage of Danish Internet sites over the last 12 months. Today, SOL has more than 350,000 Danish users to its site each week. Furthermore, Lars Folkmann will be a part of SOL AB's Scandinavian management team, where his strong marketing and commercial skills will be an asset to the Company in its further expansion. - SOL is the most exiting company in this sector, in the sense that it has accomplished a combination of the aggressive growth required to succeed on the Internet and the focus on revenue generation and disciplined management from traditional industries, says Lars Folkmann. Lars Folkmann joined the Coca-Cola system in 1991, and has held a number of senior management positions, most recently as Director of Sales & Marketing for Coca-Cola Tapperierne A/S, and prior to this Country Manager for The Coca-Cola Company in Denmark. Lars Folkmann also brings Scandinavian strategic marketing experience from his time as Marketing Director in Coca-Cola Nordic Beverages A/S. The present Managing Director at SOL, Peer Olav Østli, who will continue in his current role for SOL in Denmark until July 31, 2000. Since 1996, Peer Olav Østli has been Country Manager at SOL in Denmark.
