In-flight buffet service offers greater freedom of choice When SAS places its new long-distance A340 and A330 aircraft in service this autumn, a new form of service will also be introduced in Business Class. A buffet will be laid out during the flight, offering travelers beverages and fruit between meal times. This will result in increased flexibility during the trip. Many travelers want to be able to leave their seats and stretch their legs during a long flight. A few steps in the aisle have a stimulating effect on a passenger's well-being. There is also a need to take in a substantial amount to liquids in order to increase one's well-being during and after the flight. SAS encourages passengers on long flights to recognize this need and is always ready to serve water. Brew your own espresso SAS has combined passengers' wishes and will offer buffet service with water, wine, beer, soft drinks and a range of foods that provide something sweet, salty and green. In addition the buffet will have a machine that brews espresso coffee. SAS is unique in offering this service concept. The buffet will be located in the middle of the Business Class section, easily accessible for the passengers. Cabin personnel will assist as needed. The buffet service is a supplement or alternative to the meals that offer food based on SAS's unique Scandinavian World Cooking food concept. The food concept has been developed in cooperation with the foremost cooks in Scandinavia. The beverages served with the meals are also being selected with care by a team of gourmets, and the same applies to the buffet beverages, which include wine, water and popular soft drinks. Each cup of espresso coffee is brewed individually and there is an abundant supply of fresh fruit.
