New and improved service on SAS domestic flights and within Scandinavia SAS is now greatly improving its service and products on domestic flights in Sweden, Norway and Denmark and on routes between the three Scandinavian countries. "We are improving our service concept on our short routes substantially, and it is becoming more uniform at the same time," Ulf Ingnås, Director- Product Management Inflight, explains. "We are also offering more variation and are abandoning much of the traditional. "As a traveler, a person should both recognize and experience the variation in service - and be pleasantly surprised." The new program started in March and is increasingly being introduced during the year. "Domestic flights and those between the Scandinavian countries involve short routes with limited flight time. But we know that travelers appreciate food and beverages on these flights, too - and SAS is focusing on Scandinavian World Cooking, the new kitchen that offers fresher food on flights, and which has already earned us awards in the industry while making passengers very pleased. "SAS has developed Scandinavian World Cooking jointly with ten leading cooks in Scandinavia - the SAS Culinary Team. We are offering a completely new sandwich concept and new menus with salads and pies -- lighter but no less filling. The line of beverages will also be expanded. "SAS is offering different service arrangements on weekdays and weekends, and we are also changing between the winter and summer season, when travel is more relaxed. "We want to pay a little extra attention to children and have renewed the line of in-flight toys -- with a number of pleasant surprises. "Short flights require efficient planning of work and a functional work environment. We have made it easier for our cabin personnel to work efficiently - and with smart solutions there will be more time for personal service to passengers. The renewal will also be noticeable in the form of new packages and a new presentation of products. "Where flights are extremely short - on certain domestic routes, for example - we are offering a 'gate concept.' Food is available at the gate and the traveler is able to make a choice before boarding. Beverages are served on board.
