SAS second route Copenhagen- Newark to be closed down temporarily during winter 2001/2002 In the aftermaths of the September 11 events and weaker demand SAS announced 12% in capacity cuts for the full year 2002 on September 26. In addition to the closure of Copenhagen - Delhi and Oslo- Newark announced earlier SAS also announced it would withdraw a third aircraft from its intercontinental operations. SAS now operates two daily flights from Copenhagen to Newark. SAS will as from October 22, 2001 discontinue operations on the second late flight (SK901/902) Copenhagen - Newark during winter and resume operations on March 31, 2002. The capacity adjustment is included in the 12% reduction announced earlier.
