SAS won the European award for Best Environmental Report The jury of the European Environmental Reporting Awards (EERA) has awarded SAS the prize for "Best Environmental Report 2000". At a ceremony in Copenhagen yesterday SAS CEO Jørgen Lindegaard received the prize. - I am glad that our efforts to be open in our reporting, combined with an ambitious and dedicated environmental agenda has made us eligible for the award, Jørgen Lindegaard said. We are continuously working to improve our environmental performance. Honest and transparent environmental reporting is therefore a strategic measure to follow up and to share information with our different stakeholders. SAS has been awarded more distinctions than ever before for the Environmental Report 2000. SAS won the award for best environmental report both in Denmark and Norway. In Sweden it got the highest marks of all in Deloitte & Touche's annual review of environmental reports. In Sweden, Denmark and Norway the national nominating committees, independently of one another, nominated SAS Environmental Report 2000 for the European Environmental Reporting Awards (EERA). - Our environmental goals remain firm, despite the recession, Jørgen Lindegaard said. During 2002 we will develop environmental programs for airline as well as hotel operations that are to be the most ambitious in their respective industries. If other companies should wish to challenge us to this goal, all the better. Although we usually strive to be superior, this is a field in which we would be pleased to welcome our competitors to be successful, too.
