RBM Noor sledgebase wins 'best of the best' red dot award in product design

Scandinavian Business Seating, the largest task seating manufacturer in Western Europe, is delighted to announce it has been awarded two prestigious red dot awards. The international jury of experts gave the red dot award: 'best of the best' in product design 2013 to the new RBM's chair, RBM Noor sledgebase model and the red dot award: product design to the full RBM Noor collection, recognising the innovation and appeal of the new products.
The red dot award is one of the most renowned and internationally acclaimed design competitions. In the product design category this year the 37-member jury of experts received 4,662 entries; more than ever before in the history of the red dot. There were 1,865 designers, architects and companies from 54 countries who submitted designs in the 19 different categories, proving that the red dot awards is a truly global event promoting expertise and creativity.

RBM Noor is the result of three Scandinavian design studios joining forces with Scandinavian Business Seating's own design team to create a chair that maintains a strong Scandinavian heritage of craftsmanship, yet represents a fresh and inspiring approach to product design.
Since the back of a chair is often the first encounter users have with a chair, the contour of RBM Noor's back has a fine line with a curve, as though the chair is smiling at you. The bright colour scheme and the positive attitude aim to enhance the sitting experience in ambient meeting places.
RBM Noor, which is designed for use in canteens & conference venues, meeting spaces and the education sector, comes in a wide variety of shapes and colours. The highly modular collection includes eight models, with four base options, two types of shells, polypropylene and 3D veneers with optional armrests, and the possibility for upholstered solutions. RBM Noor meets all of the high environmental standards of Scandinavian Business Seating and as such is an exceptional case of eco-friendly design.
The official presentation of the red dot design award will be in Essen in Germany on July 1, 2013.
