CUUR Returns to the Swedish Market

Scandinavian Clinical Nutrition AB (SCN) is now re-launching CUUR, one of Sweden’s most appreciated and successful weight control products, on the Swedish market. With a new composition and new studies planned, SCN believes in continuous success both for the product and the consumers using CUUR.

During spring 2007, Scandinavian Clinical Nutrition i Sverige AB (SCN) took over the rights to CUUR on the Nordic market from Bringwell AB. At the time the product was put on hold, since Bringwell had decided to voluntarily withdraw it from the market. The reason for this was that two issues needed to be investigated in consultation with the Swedish National Food Administration and Medical Products Agency (MPA), a dialogue that SCN took over in connection with taking over the rights to the product.

The two issues concerned that the Swedish MPA had ruled one ingredient in CUUR to be a pharmaceutical drug, and also that there were suspicions of possible side effects, which of course was taken very seriously by SCN. Both issues have now been investigated, with the result that CUUR is being re-launched in Sweden with a new composition. This new CUUR has already been successfully sold for some time in Norway, and Ulf Söderberg, CEO of SCN, has a positive view on the future for CUUR both in Sweden and internationally.

“We are happy to announce that CUUR is back in the health food stores. CUUR is a good and natural product that has helped many people, it has well-documented ingredients, in particular green tea, and many have asked for it while it was taken off the shelves. The dialogue we have had with Swedish authorities has brought about a new composition of the product, and we appreciate the engagement that the Swedish MPA has shown. Not least because it once again shows the importance of our investment in quality and scientific documentation for all our products”, says Ulf Söderberg.
