Positive verdict from global tyre producer

Enviro has received a positive response from a well-known international tyre manufacturer which has carried out extensive quality tests on Enviro’s recycled carbon black, EnviroCB. The test result confirms that Enviro’s material performs on parity with virgin carbon black in terms of the characteristics of rubber intended for certain types of tyres.

“This is a very pleasing outcome and a breakthrough for recycled carbon black in the tyre industry. This producer will now be progressing according to the plan and test Enviros carbon black in full-scale tyres. There is significant long-term potential for us if we can get the material into tyre production”, says Thomas Sörensson, CEO of Enviro.

The international tyre producer’s promising results gives the green light for moving forward according to plan with testing recycled carbon black as a component in newly produced tyres.

“The tyre producer has high quality demands since tyres are safety products. They are working with a long-term perspective to increase the share of recycled material in their tyres, both from an environmental perspective and in a future scenario where there may be a shortage of raw materials.”

Enviro's objective is to establish recycling facilities for end-of-life tyres on a global market. The more commercial outlets there are for recycled carbon black, the larger this market will be.

“This is an important announcement. We are one big step closer to complete new tyre production using recycled carbon black. Even if only part of the virgin carbon black in new tyres would be replaced by recycled product it would mean large volumes on a global scale. We have noted that interest from the international rubber industry is increasing, and this type of progress demonstrates that we are on the right path.”

Enviro has presented the recycled carbon black, with a commercially verified quality level, to a number of the largest tyre manufacturers in the world, and several of them are currently carrying out rigorous testing.

“The deal with AnVa Polytech, which delivers components containing recycled carbon black to Volvo Cars, has been an important step on the path to future deals. Each application approved by the industry means increased opportunities for Enviro’s plant sales”, says Thomas Sörensson.
