Chile’s president, Michelle Bachelet, is coming to Sweden following an invitation by H.M. the King. Enviro has also been invited to this state visit, the primary theme of which is Innovations with a focus on sustainable urban development.

“For Enviro, this is a fantastic opportunity to present to President Bachelet our solution for increased sustainability within the rubber industry. My hope is that this will have a positive effect on our ongoing negotiations for a recycling plant in Chile”, says Thomas Sörensson, CEO of Scandinavian Enviro Systems.

Enviro’s CEO, Thomas Sörensson, will present the company during the Chilean state visit on 10-12 May.

Enviro will attend when the Chilean president Michelle Bachelet visits Sweden at the invitation of His Majesty the King on 10-12 May. Stig-Arne Blom, the Board Chairman of Enviro, will participate in Tuesday’s lunch, and CEO Thomas Sörensson will present the company during Wednesday’s meeting on trade and industry issues.

“This is the second time in a short period that we will be meeting the King, who visited our recycling plant in Åsensbruk on 6 April. On that occasion he expressed genuine interest in Enviro’s solution and the environmental improvements it creates. This recycling process has great potential and can contribute to increased sustainability around the world. This is what I will be explaining to the Chilean president, Michelle Bachelet.”

Enviro’s patented solution, which produces carbon black, oil, gas and steel from discarded car tyres, is in line with Chile's ambitions in terms of producer responsibility for the manufacturers of mining tyres. Enviro has long going negotiations with Chile to establish a recycling plant for South American mining tyres in the country.

“We have a good collaboration with interested parties in Chile, who have also visited our plant, and the process of establishing a recycling plant in Chile is continuing.”

In addition to His Majesty the King and President Bachelet, the Minister for Enterprise and Innovation Mikael Damberg will also be participating in the state visit, together with representatives from the government and industry.

“It’s inspiring to be able to talk about our vision and about a sustainable circular economy within the tyre and rubber industry in such a forum”, says Thomas Sörensson, CEO of Scandinavian Enviro Systems.
