New Head of Scania Buses & Coaches

New Head of Scania Buses & Coaches Håkan Ericsson has been appointed Senior Vice President Buses & Coaches and member of the Scania Group Management. He will take up this appointment on 1 August 1999, succeeding Åke Brännström who is retiring. Håkan Ericsson has spent the past five years as Managing Director of the Scania subsidiary Scania Australia Pty Ltd. In 1975 he was employed by Scania's service department with responsibility for product follow-up and field tests. He has since held a number of leading positions in the Scania organisation. Scania is one of the world's leading manufacturers of trucks and buses for heavy transport applications, and of industrial and marine engines. With 23,500 employees and production facilities in Europe and Latin America, Scania is one of the most profitable companies in its sector. In 1998, turnover totalled SEK 45,300 million and income after financial items SEK 3,200 million. Scania products are marketed in about 100 countries worldwide and approximately 96 percent of total production is sold outside Sweden.
