Scania is strongly represented at Bauma 2007, the largest construction exhibition in the world, held in Munich every three years. On display are six vehicles, four of which with bodywork for tipper operations and one a chassis that shows vital construction features. Scania also supplies engines adapted for various types of construction machinery and other industrial applications.

With its new range of construction vehicles, Scania aims to boost global sales in this market segment by 50% from 10,000 units in 2006 to around 15,000 in 2009. With products renowned for durability and power and a global sales and service network, Scania has all the prerequisites for strengthening its position.

Scania in particular targets tipper and mixer operators with a large variety of configurations and specification options. Scania is also starting to offering complete turnkey solutions via the Scania network in some markets, cutting lead-times and providing one-stop-shopping for construction operators.

Scania also has ambitious targets for the industrial and marine engine market. Sales in 2006 totalled more than 6,600 units and sales are to increase to 10,000 engines by 2010. In the industrial all-speed segment, Scania’s goal is to double sales. Customers in this segment impose the highest demands on operational reliability, requiring engines to deliver round-the-clock operation, as well as good environmental and fuel performance.

Wherever present in the world, Scania always offers parts and service as part of the deal to support operators and thus maximise uptime and performance. Business support and financial services are also on offer to make sure the customer’s operations run as efficiently as possible.
