Scania reports strong fourth quarter order intake – bookings up 31 percent in October-November

At today’s Capital Markets Day, Per-Erik Lindquist, head of Franchise and Factory Sales, confirmed that Scania’s order bookings remain strong.

“The continued strong underlying demand for transport capacity is reflected in a high order intake. The major part of the increase comes from European markets, which supports our conviction of customers’ preference in EGR-technology as the best choice for the emission level Euro 4, which became compulsory on 1 October,” said Per-Erik Lindquist.

There is a shortage of transport capacity in Europe, and the supply of used vehicles is limited.

Scania is one of the two manufacturers in Europe that provide EGR-engines for Euro 4. Recently, the Dutch transport company Vos Logistics ordered 1,000 Scania tractors with EGR of Euro 4-version.

“We have delivered more that 12,000 vehicles equipped with EGR-engines. Our EGR-technology has a proven record of excellent fuel consumption, good reliability and simplicity to handle – it’s just to add diesel.

“With this strong order intake, we are now booking orders for deliveries in the second quarter of next year,” said Per-Erik Lindquist.
