Scania's package deal gave order for 30 city buses for Östersund in northern Sweden The newly-formed bus company, Storsjötrafik, which secured the operating rights in the Östersund region of northern Sweden, has placed an order for 30 low-entrance Scania city buses. "The order is yet more proof that Scania's package concept , which encom- passes service and repair agreements, is a true success," says Leif Nys- tröm, Managing Director of Scania Bus Nordic. Berners, the Scania dealer in Östersund, secured the order jointly with Scania Bus Nordic. As part of the package deal, Berners will handle all service and mainte- nance of the buses at a fixed price per kilometre. Service and maintenance will be provided in a facility that Berners rents together with the cus- tomer, Storsjötrafik. "This gives us the possibility of following up the buses even more closely, something that is made even easier since all the buses are of the same type," says Leif Nyström. The Scania OmniLink is a low-entrance city bus with an environmentally op- timised body made of aluminium. The powertrain consists of Scania's new 260 hp 9-litre Euro 3 certified diesel engine mated to a ZF automatic transmission. The buses, which will enter service at the end of this year, are manufac- tured at the Scania factory in Katrineholm. Low-floor buses to Örebro Bus operator Busslink of Örebro recently placed an order for six low-floor Scania OmniCity buses. Busslink already has a fleet of OmniCity buses in service. The new order confirms the customer's good experience of the ve- hicles already in operation.
