The transport company Gruppo Gavio Spa has ordered 100 Scania tractor units. Scania’s ability to provide low-weight trucks with engines that meet the Euro 4 exhaust requirements with EGR technology, combined with competivite service solutions were the main reasons behind the choice of supplier. The deal includes a full five years repair and maintenance contract.

“This order confirms a new trend on the Italian market. There is an increasing demand for the service solutions that Scania provides in order to get a high availability, uptime, of the vehicles. The demand comes from big fleet companies as well as small owner operators. In the last three years, our sales of repair and maintenance contracts have tripled”, says Christian Levin, Managing Director of Italscania.

Italscania, which is a wholly-owned Scania subsidiary, has a sales network of 27 dealerships. The service network consists of 112 workshops spread all over the country.

Gruppo Gavio Spa, located in Castelnuovo Scrivia in the north-western part of Italy, is an old family enterprise founded in 1900. Today, the company has a fleet of 1,000 trucks operating in different transport segments, both nationally and internationally.
