Cognitive Business Secures Major SaaS Contract with Global Engineering Service Provider

One of the UK’s leading machine learning and applied A.I. innovators in energy has secured – and is already well underway in delivering – a large international contract to supply bespoke advanced pattern recognition technology to a major Spanish engineering service provider.

The contract will see Cognitive Business, based in Nottingham, deliver its state-of-the-art technology to engineering business, Tecnatom, recognised for supplying plant operation support engineering, operational personnel training, via the use of full-scope simulators, as well as inspection and structural integrity services.

Known for utilising highly advanced technologies, which are constantly being improved to adapt to the needs and requirements of its various clients and markets, the company will now deploy Cognitive’s advanced pattern recognition technology on several conventional generation assets in South America, and which the business provides plant operation services to.

With sophisticated geometric indexing capabilities, the pattern recognition technology will allow accurate and real-time data to be gathered by Tecnatom’s monitoring diagnostic team in order to compare data and use anomalies to determine potential faults with an asset.

The introduction of such technology, developed exclusively for Tecnatom by Cognitive’s team of experts, will allow the business to support its client to improve the operational maintenance on these generation assets.

With performance data indexed efficiently, this will enable predictive maintenance on the turbines, whilst providing a better understanding of the asset’s health, resulting in both time and cost savings in operations and maintenance.

Speaking about the contract win, Ty Burridge-Oakland, Managing Director at Cognitive Business said: “We are delighted to be working with Tecnatom who are recognised for being at the very forefront in adopting the latest technology to improve their engineering service. This is reflected in the choice of our software and the use of the latest iteration of this technology, which we believe is more advanced than ever before.”

“Tecnatom really recognise the value in having intelligent modelling data, available in real-time, to allow its engineers to make quick, insightful and valuable decisions on their operations and maintenance projects.

“We are looking forward to working closely with the business to help implement the software that will help their client’s plant to operate as efficiently and as smoothly as possible.”
