Specialist project manpower and recruitment services provider Samuel Knight International – has announced the appointment of a new board member as the business looks to deliver on an aggressive growth strategy.

Dylan Christie - who joins the business as Chief Operating Officer - comes with a track record of over 25 years in building some of the UKs largest engineering & technology recruitment companies.  He joins Newcastle Headquartered Samuel Knight having previously led the team at Nigel Frank, where he was instrumental in scaling the business to a £220 million turnover, achieving 40% year on year growth and employing 2,500 people across the world.

With a background in engineering and technology recruitment, Dylan joins the Samuel Knight board as the business sets out a strategy for growth forecast to double turnover as they look to achieve £50million in sales by 2025.

Speaking about the appointment, Founder and CEO at Samuel Knight, Steve Rawlingson said: “The appointment of Dylan is a fantastic, strategic hire for us and firmly demonstrates our ambition to create one of the largest global recruitment companies within the renewable space.

“Dylan was instrumental in the growth of one of the world’s largest, tech recruitment companies and, for me, there was no other Chief Operating Officer I wanted sitting at the board table.  This appointment demonstrates just how committed Samuel Knight is to develop a world leading renewable energy and sustainable transport recruitment company where we hit our ambitious growth and turnover objectives and, most importantly, where we create an environment where people want to work.”

Only last month Smauel Knight announced it was on target to achieve a turnover of over £25million for the first time in the company’s history, an increase of 28% and which follows a period of significant growth.

Speaking about his appointment, Dylan said: "I'm thrilled to be joining Samuel Knight International at such an exciting time in the company's journey, as we look to expand globally and dominate the renewable energy staffing market.

“Following the Paris Agreement there will literally be trillions of dollars invested in the renewable energy sector to help improve infrastructure, increase capacity and further technology. All this requires skilled people, and that talent is in huge demand across the world. I’m looking forward to supporting the renewable energy supply chain with the best possible people, whilst also leading and building our internal capability and growing our international presence.”

Samuel Knight International was formed purely to service the renewable energy and sustainable transport industries.  The business is aiming to be 100% owned by its employees and - as its purpose -champions achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050 through the support of community initiatives and programmes that drive green and environmentally friendly initiatives.
