Highways Agency selects SCC as their Cloud Hosting partner under FICT Contract
SCC, Europe’s largest independent technology company, has announced signing a pioneering two-year contract to provide the Highways Agency with Cloud Hosting services under their new Future ICT (FICT) Contract Programme.
The FICT Programme introduces a ‘Service Tower’ model, with the Highways Agency moving away from a single large ‘generalist’ ICT service provider to a number of smaller, more specialist contracts for the first time.
Within the Service Towers model is a FICT Hosting (HOS) project, awarded to SCC via the G-Cloud programme and aligned with the latest Government ICT strategy, following evaluation against the Most Economical Advantageous Tender (MEAT) principle, as described in the CloudStore Customer Zone.
SCC is set to deliver a secure platform for a range of current and future digital services provided by the Highways Agency, an Executive Agency of the Department for Transport, ensuring data security to CESG IL2 and IL3 standards.

As the most established provider of Pan-Government accredited secure IL2 and IL3 Cloud services in the UK, the agreement will see SCC migrate approximately 300 Highways Agency servers into its Cloud environment and host the Agency’s back office infrastructure, supporting almost 4,000 users.
