COLUMBIA, Md., June 14, 2010 — Shimadzu Scientific Instruments will showcase the Nexera UHPLC alongside other analytical instrumentation for liquid chromatography applications at HPLC 2010, the 35th International Symposium on High Performance Liquid Phase Separations and Related Techniques (June 19-24, Hynes Convention Center, Boston), Booth 103.

Shimadzu will highlight the following instruments at HPLC 2010:

  • Nexera UHPLC — At 19,000 psi, Shimadzu’s new, modular Nexera UHPLC meets all analysis requirements: conventional, ultra-high speed, high resolution, high temperature, and multidimensional with no compromise in data integrity.
  • Prominence UFLC/UFLCXR — Raise total system productivity by generating high-quality, reproducible data without compromise through superior design, engineering and quality.
  • LCMS-2020 — The world’s most sensitive, fastest scanning and fastest polarity switching quadrupole mass spectrometer available.
  • Prominence nano — Powerful 1-D and 2-D configurations deliver true nano-flow LC with no split-flow waste.
  • Multidimensional HPLC – Includes 2-D for bioanalysis and comprehensive LC x LC.

To educate attendees about the Nexera, Shimadzu will present a technical seminar, titled “UHPLC: The Next Generation of HPLC — Design and Material Aspects of the Shimadzu Nexera UHPLC System,” at 1 p.m., June 24, in room 306. The basic performance features of Nexera (reproducibility, linearity, and carryover) and the engineering and material choices needed to achieve them will be described in this presentation.

Additionally, Shimadzu will host three poster presentations at HPLC 2010, including “Performance Evaluation of a New UHPLC Design,” “Evaluation of Current UHPLC System Capabilities” and “Ultra-High Sensitivity Analysis Using Newly Designed Fluorescence Detector.”
