The Screen returns for digital bus tour to Westfield Stratford City and London Olympic Park

London, UK, 14 February 2012 – The first round of confirmed speakers has been announced for Screenmedia expo 2012, taking place 16-17 May at Earls Court 2, London. Speakers will address informative issues that fall within the four key education programme channels – Connected Screenmedia, Connected Content, Interactive Connection and Smart Connections. Other event highlights include a special pre-expo briefing run by The Screen that will tour both Westfield Stratford City and London Olympic Park.

“We’re looking forward to building on the success of last year’s education programme,” commented Mark Pigou, show director, Screen Events Ltd. “2012 is set to be even better, and we’re excited by the quality and diversity of the speaker line-up announced so far – no sales pitches or repetitive speeches in sight.”

He continued, “Screenmedia expo 2012, as a whole, will be the hub for all the latest and greatest screenmedia technologies and applications. We’re optimistic that this will be a record year for the expo as market growth is looking positive – digital OOH has moved well beyond the experimental stage and into the mainstream as a credible part of the media mix. With the Olympics looming, there are likely to be many exciting showcase opportunities to watch out for.”

The four programme tracks of the education programme are designed to provide visitors with high-quality thought leadership that can be used to move their respective businesses or projects forwards.

* #2: Connected Content - considers exactly what gets viewers, users, brands and advertisers engaged and excited. It will showcase, explore and explain how to create innovative screenmedia experiences that push creative and technical boundaries.

It will examine how applying rules to data use allows screenmedia networks to react quickly and efficiently to mission critical changes.

The Screen - London bus tour

The Screen will once again be working in partnership with Screenmedia expo to offer a unique occasion for visitors to tour two of London’s major digital signage and DOOH environments. On Tuesday 15th May, the afternoon prior to the opening of the expo, The Screen will hold a special briefing and bus tour to Westfield Stratford City followed by the London Olympic Park. The Westfield tour will be hosted by experts and operators involved in the running of the retail, media and technology on site. Although not all venues in the Olympic Park are open to the public, tour attendees will benefit from a fascinating insight into the future role of digital signage technologies in designing urban and sporting landscapes.

A series of workshops and seminars will also run alongside the expo. Details will be announced soon.
