Seamless has entered into an agreement with Max Hamburgerrestauranger AB. This enables Max customers to pay with SEQR – the mobile payment solution developed by Seamless.

Max, Sweden’s fastest-growing hamburger chain, has entered into an agreement with Seamless to start a pilot project involving the SEQR mobile payment solution. After the New Year, guests at Max restaurants in three cities in Sweden will be able to pay for their hamburgers via their mobile phones.

“We’re very pleased that Max has chosen us and our mobile payment solution, SEQR. The restaurant chain’s very strong market position will now able even more consumers to experience how simple and convenient it is to pay with SEQR. At the same time, the agreement will increase our revenues, both in the short and long terms,” says Peter Fredell, CEO, Seamless Distribution AB.

In only a short time, SEQR has become greatly appreciated by both retailers and consumers. This is because the solution by-passes the high charges of card companies and because it is very simple and cost nothing for the merchant to implement.

“At Max, our focus is always on the guest, and surveys have shown that we’ve had Sweden’s most satisfied hamburger customers for ten consecutive years. Being able to offer a simple and safe mobile payment solution through SEQR is a natural step in further improving the customer experience in the restaurant,” says Anders Forssten, Marketing Director, Max.

The agreement means that Seamless will receive revenues from Max in the first quarter of 2013.

About Max

Max is Sweden’s first hamburger chain, and was founded in 1968. The family-owned chain is a market leader, and was also a pioneer regarding low-fat products; for example, Max was the first company in the sector to offer GI burgers and keyhole nutrition labelling of meals. The recipe for success also includes choice and food cooked to order. Max serves only Swedish beef, chicken and bacon. Furthermore, the company is the first restaurant chain that labels all its meals with information about their climate impact, and offsets 100 percent of its total climate impact by planting trees in Africa. The objective is to become a business operation completely free of fossil fuels. Today, Max has 93 restaurants in Sweden and three in Norway. In March 2013, Max will be opening its first restaurant in Denmark. Max Sverige sales in 2011 were SEK 1.47 billion.

About SEQR
SEQR, developed by Seamless, is the fastest and easiest mobile payments solution currently available on the market. The customer simply uses the SEQR app to scan the QR code at the checkout and approve the payment by entering their PIN. SEQR works just as well for physical transactions as for e-commerce, and is both faster and more secure than card payments. The technology behind the solution requires no investment by retailers. - all that is required is a QR code sticker at the checkout. The retailer then saves money on every transaction because of the very low transaction fee.
