• ‘Gift List’ predicament causes wedding guests worry • Gift Cards offer flexible wedding gifts Thursday 21st, April, 2011: As the world prepares for the Royal Wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton on 29th April, 2011, new research from the UK’s leading store card and credit card comparison website www.compareprepaid.co.uk has revealed that over half of all wedding guests dislike having to choose gifts from a wedding list. The survey of 500 website visitors to Compareprepaid.co.uk revealed that when asked the question ‘Do you like choosing wedding gifts from a wedding list prior to attending a wedding?’ an overall majority of 58%, (290 people) answered no. 42% (210 people) answered yes. Wedding lists are popular because they avoid issues arising of couples receiving the same gift twice on their wedding day, but quite often for many guests it can feel restrictive and costly. Obviously those lucky enough to be attending the Royal Wedding wont have to worry about the gift list as the happy couple are asking guests to make donations to charity as a wedding gift. Raffick Marday from Compare Pre Paid explains; “Our figures show that the majority of people do not like having to choose gifts from a wedding list when they are attending a wedding. “Often, the gifts that you would like to give are gone by the time you come to buy from the wedding list so you are left giving odds and ends as a present. “Personal gifts chosen ‘off-list’ are great if you are close to the couple getting married, but if you don’t know them that well it can be extremely difficult to choose the right present. “Gift cards can in many ways free wedding guests from the ‘Gift List’ predicament. They are simple to buy and load with as much money as you want on them. All you have to do then is simply pass the gift card on to the happy couple so they can use the gift card to buy whatever they feel like.” “There are also some great gift cards available at the moment, such as the Debenhams gift card. Offering the latest women’s, men’s & children’s fashions, accessories, fragrances, cosmetics, homewares and electrical; they’re sure to find a gift they’ll love! Plus, the good thing about the Debenhams gift card is it can be redeemed at over 135 stores nationwide.” Anyone looking to find the perfect wedding gift card this wedding season should compare the best gift cards at: http://www.compareprepaid.co.uk/prepaid-cards/gift/gift-cards.html Notes: Raffick Marday is available for interview.
