Invitation to SEB’s sustainability event Transition in Numbers: Towards Net Zero

Report this content

On 15 November 2023, SEB will hold its annual sustainability event and provide an update on the progress on the bank’s ambitions and goals within the climate area.

In 2021, SEB presented new ambitions and goals as part of its sustainability strategy. These were complemented in 2022 with net-zero aligned 2030 interim targets for specific sectors in the credit portfolio, as part of SEB’s commitment to the Net-Zero Banking Alliance (NZBA).

At this year’s sustainability event, SEB’s President and CEO Johan Torgeby will provide an update on the progress on these ambitions and goals and the NZBA targets, and speak about how the bank works with its customers and other stakeholders to accelerate the sustainability transition.

Other speakers include Sir Alok Sharma, member of the UK Parliament who served as the President of the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow (COP26), Stephen Polasky, Professor of Ecological and Environmental Economics at University of Minnesota, and Erkki Liikanen, former Governor of the Bank of Finland and Chair of the IFRS Foundation Trustees.

The event will be moderated by Isabelle Tibbelin, Sustainable Finance Advisor at SEB, and Robert Bergqvist, Senior Economist at SEB. The program also includes presentations of corporate customers’ transition journeys, moderated by Maria Rimbäck, Head of Corporate Banking Sweden at SEB. There will also be presentations from SEB’s own sustainability experts and management team.

Media, analysts, investors, and other stakeholders are invited to participate in the event, which will be broadcast digitally in English on 15 November 2023 at 09.00-12.30 CET. For more information, the agenda, and to register, please visit sebgroup.com/netzerotransition, where a replay will be available afterwards. The event will be hybrid, and those who would like to participate on site at SEB’s office in Arenastaden in Stockholm can email press@seb.se for more details.
